Train hits man in northeast Iowa

The Buchanan County Sheriff's Office says the man was walking east along railroad tracks near Independence on Wednesday night when a Canadian National Railway train traveling in the same direction struck him. The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports the man was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
