Chinese shipments have plunged this year on EU's clothing import market, with rival countries taking advantage of this historical decline. Bangladesh is the more obvious winner, now ranking first in many HS 4-digit categories, but other origins are also benefiting from the shift our of China, mostly due to their duty-free access to the European Union. Morocco and Tunisia have taken advantage of their proximity, whereas Turkey is seizing opportunities offered by free access, proximity and a sharply lower currency. Turkey is eyeing US$18bn in apparel exports by the end of this year and US$19bn in 2019 according to new data from the Istanbul Apparel Exporters' Association (IHKIB).

DyStar ramps up destruction of fake textile dyes in Turkey

DyStar has won a legal case against a Turkish producer of counterfeit textile dyes that infringed one of its patents - with the win resulting in the destruction of 3.3 tons of the product.

China is rapidly losing ground in most categories of products, due to a rise of its unit prices. Competitors of both suppliers have less benefited form China's setback than Bangladesh with results being very different depending on categories and origins, as usual.
