The job For our activities at EUMETSAT, Darmstadt Germany we are looking for a Software System Test Engineer mfd The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for the Integration, Validation and Verification IVV of a complex software systems chain used in Satellite Earth Observation Data Processing applications. The tasks will focus on the execution of the IVV activities by performing the corresponding integration and verification testing campaigns according to the agreed plans and supporting the Senior engineers on the validation of systems when performing the corresponding validation test campaigns. In more details, the activities may include among others Scheduling and executing of all the integration and verification activities Ensuring sufficiently in advance of execution that relevant procedures, tools and data are ready to be used, performing any final tuning or setup Participating in the corresponding Test Readiness Reviews TRR Performing the integration and verification activities and testing according to the plans, procedures and arrangements taken in the relevant readiness review Undertaking any required analysis of the resultsissues and recording the outcome in relevant reports, and anomaly reports Participating in Test Review Board meetings Maintaining the relevant VCD and recording the results of the tests in DOORS Supporting Anomaly Review Board ARB meetings Liaising with the development teams for technical issues related to the test execution, the communication of anomalies, the followup of their resolution and installation of patches or new releases. Skills and experience The ideal candidate is a SW professional with 25 years relevant, demonstrated work experience on as many as possible of the following subjects in order of importance Automated SW system testing Requirements and verification management using DOORS Scripting languages in a Linux environment Programming languages CC, Java, Javascript, XML, Perl, TclTk Operating systems UNIXLinux and Windows Relational databases MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL Networking Internet protocols, TCPIP The capability of working effectively in the English language, including the participation in technical meetings andor boards and the production of technical documents and reports, is essential.
