F. Blair Wimbush, vice president of real estate and corporate sustainability officer at Norfolk Southern Corp., has been appointed to the Virginia Port Authority board, Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced Friday. Aston, who had been appointed to the board a year ago, replaced a board member whose term was up on June 30, 2016.

Former Triad exec charged, settles with SEC

The Securities and Exchange Commission has charged Tim Scronce , the former owner of Lexington-based telecom equipment company TelWorx, with defrauding a publicly traded telecommunications company and its shareholders during and after its acquisition of the business. Scronce in 2013 paid a multimillion settlement to the buyer of that firm, Bloomingdale, Ill.-based PCTEL Inc., after allegations of accounting irregularities, as previously reported by the Triad Business Journal .
Local truck manufacturing exec named new chairwoman of Women in Trucking

The billionaire mogul Koch Brothers have made headlines in recent months for two reasons: the staggering amount they plan to spend backing conservatives in the 2016 election, and their push for an overhaul of the nation's criminal justice system. "The greatest infringement on individual liberty and the poor is in the criminal justice system," Koch Industries executive Mark Holden declared at a recent conference on criminal justice reform in Washington, DC.
