Main responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for the definition, implementation, acceptance and maintenance of mission control systems. The following main tasks are involved Specification of the software requirements of these systems in collaboration with the operational users Definition and specification of their internal and external interfaces in agreement with the relevant parties Acceptance of the deliverables received from industry, ensuring correctness, completeness and compliance to the applicable requirements Support to the mission operations staff as required in the various operational phases, including System Validation Tests, simulation campaign and in software support coordination as part of the Flight Control Team during critical operational phases such as launches Coordination with other internal ESOC or external units, e.g. with the unit supplying mission data systems infrastructure and with the unit supplying the ICT systems and services Participation in research and development activities in the area of mission data systems. Ideal candidate The successful candidate shall meet the following requirements Deep, handson knowledge of mission control systems, their environment and the relevant infrastructure. This includes areas such as mission planning, automation, operational database, archiving, data distribution, etc. Knowledge and experience in the ESOC software engineering methodology and standards. Competence in modern computer languages such as C, C, Java, UML, XML, SQL. Familiarity with the ESOC software development environments and systems, including DOORS. Familiarity with relevant operating systems, including LINUX. Deep, handson experience in development, integration, verification and testing of satellite control infrastructure, and especially in multimission SCOS2000 S2K based Mission Control Systems. Handson experience with Spacecraft Simulators, Ground Models simulators and test harnesses. Augmented and Virtual Reality application development in Unity will be an advantage. Position Reference 105 You will have the opportunity to provide engineering support in preparation of test plans, procedures and test sequences for Satellite sytems testing during ambient and environmental test campaigns and preparing, debugging and executing complex test sequences on flight spacecrafts and test benches. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Interpretation of electrical and functional test requirements from test specifications Provide test solutions to meet the test specification requirements, from planning and kickoff meeting, through test sequence coding, procedure preparation and debug to execution. Close out tests with Post Test Review and Test Report To provide technical inputs to project test reviews Test Readiness Reviews, Post Test Reviews, Test Review Boards and Non Conformance Review Boards Development and debug of Automatic Test procedures ATP using a bespoke high level SW language Open Center checkout system based on the Elisa langauge to test the spacecraft systems Preparing and executing spacecraft system investigations in line with actions from Non Conformance Review Boards NRBs. Work to company and departmental procedures and maintain adherence to EN 9001 Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a degree in an Electrical Engineering related discipline or have at least 5 years relevant experience in a similar role. You have current handson experience of writing test sequencesscripts for execution of spacecraft tests from the Central Checkout System CCS. Knowledge of Elisa andor Open Center would be an advantage. You have working knowledge of TMTC Databases. You have spacecraft systems and subsystem technical knowledge and awareness, e.g. Data Handling, Packet Utilisation Standard, Data Bus Communications 1553, Spacewire, Attitude , Orbital Control, Star Trackers, Gyros, Momentum Wheels, Power systems, batteries, Solar Arrays, Thermal Control, heaters, thermostats, FDIR You are familiar with the Windows and Linux operaing systems. You are aware of cleanroom disciplines. You have knowledge of Model Based Development Verification. You are willing to support shifts and travel overseas on test campaigns essential. You have experience in writing test sequencesscripts for execution of spacecraft systems tests including FDIR from the Central Checkout System CCS. You have experience in ElectricalSpacecraft Systems fault investigation and test sequence debug. You have experience with environmental and launch test campaigns. You have experience in preparing test procedure and sequences from test specifications, writing test reports and supporting test and nonconformance reviews. The following skills would be highly desirable You have experience with programming and scripting languages, in particularly writing and debugging LinuxUnix bash scripts. Knowledge of a programming language such as C, Java, python, TCL, VBA.
