(Telecompaper) Sony has announced three new smartphones at the Ifa show in Berlin. The Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact will launch worldwide at the end of September with Android 8 Oreo, for respectively EUR 699 and EUR 599, while the Xperia XA1 Plus will launch later this autumn for EUR 349.

LG unveils flagship V30 smartphone at IFA

(Telecompaper) LG has unveiled at the IFA show in Berlin its new flagship smartphone for the year-end shopping season, the V30. Building on a number of the premium features in the G6 released earlier this year, LG already disclosed a number of the main features of the V30 prior to the unveiling. These include a 6-inch OLED FullVision display covering nearly the entire front of the device, the first f/1.6 aperture camera with a Crystal Clear lens and premium audio with a Quad DAC.

Smartphone prices to rise by 7% this year

The increase in smartphone prices worldwide will outstrip volume growth this year, according to new data from IDC.
