WHO ARE WE? GMV www.gmv.com is a privatelyowned technological enterprise group with an international presence employing more than 1,100 staff. Founded in 1984, GMV mainly operates for both public and private organizations in eight large sectors Aeronautics, Space, Defense, Health, Security, Transportation, Telecommunications and Information Technologies. GMV currently runs eight work centers in Spain Tres Cantos Madrid headquarters, Boecillo Valladolid, Seville, Barcelona, Valencia, Tenerife, Len, Zaragoza and also work centers in Lisbon Portugal, Rockville Maryland, USA, Germany Darmstadt,Warsaw Poland, Bucharest Romania and Malaysia. We recruit and hire the most outstanding engineers, and encourage innovation, technical excellence and continuing education. Our engineers regularly present papers at technical conferences, continue their education more than 85 have a masters degree, and we reinvest more than 12 of our budget in RD projects. This striving for excellence, innovation and flexibility is a major part of our culture. We provide very competitive compensation, attractive benefits, and a great work environment with lots of opportunities for professional growth. JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities Duties Tasks In the frame of the SSA program Space Situational Awareness for nearEarth objects, the means typically used to get information of their orbit are radar measurements for low LEO objects and optical measurements telescopes for those objects orbiting at higher altitude. The objects for which we have apriori information of their trajectory via a catalogue, for instance can be periodically followed over long arcs of their orbit, leading therefore to have a good knowledge of their orbital parameters. However, the characterisation of the nearEarth environment requires also gathering orbital information of objects that are not catalogued because they come from a new launch, a fragmentation . For this kind of objects, the classical scenarios where the sensor remains fix give short observation arcs hence poor information about the trajectory. Its therefore needed to get longer observation arcs so as to be able to determine their orbit with a higher degree of accuracy to do so, more complex scenarios must be considered where theres one or several sensor that chases the object right after its acquisition. Qualifications Student MSc Aerospace Specific Knowledge Fortran WHAT DO WE OFFER? As soon as they join the organization our young career professionals are given the chance to tackle technological challenges in an innovative environment, to work in multidisciplinary teams and deal directly with clients. This helps them to mature quickly as professionals. We provide continual topup training to keep our career professionals perfectly abreast of all technologies used. We offer a permanent contract and attractive package including a highly competitive salary plus a comprehensive benefits package.
