Electronic Detection Equipment Development Engineer mf

A vacancy for an Electronic Detection Equipment Development Engineer mf has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Toulouse. You will join the EO Detection Microwave Engineering department. The Instruments division of the Earth Observation, Navigation Sciences directorate is responsible for developing instruments lidars ALADIN ESA and ATLID ESA, optical and hyperfrequency instruments for Earth observation and scientific payloads EUCLID PLM. Several important instrument developments are in progress or about to kick off IASI NG, Sentinel 5, MetImage and MWI for the MetOp Second Generation mission, GOCI II KARI for Korea and NAOMI for Peru. For optical instrument developments and as the engineer responsible for electronic detection equipment development, you will be in charge of defining then steering the design and development of one or more items of equipment subcontracted to French or European partners. You will be the owner of the statement of work, the contract and the specification for the equipment and must be capable of consolidating them and negotiating with industrial partners you will guarantee compatibility between equipment design and performance and the instrument needs. For the equipment under your responsibility, you will be the focal point for the supplier within the instruments project team. You will report hierarchically to the detection department, be posted to an instrument project group and will participate in project team activities in the definition and development phase. Your main activities will include Participating in detection chain definition Participating in technical and technological choices Specifying electronic detection equipment Coengineering with industrial partners Following up industrial partner activities Supporting activities related to validation and coupling with other detection chain components detectors and other equipment. As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate some of the following skills and competencies Qualified engineer 5year degree or equivalent 5 years experience in electronic equipment design and development, ideally in the space sector Knowledge on the implementation of electrooptical detectors It is essential to have acquired some initial experience in analogue and digital electronics Experience in issues and technologies related to the interface between detectors and implementation electronics is highly recommended connectors, interface PCBs, cold wiring for infrared detection, electrical coupling and EMC issues, etc. Good team player Good sense of responsibility with regard to commitments made and compliance with deadlines Excellent grasp of physics Skills at analysing and synthesising, as well as in complex systems Meticulousness and technical curiosity Creativity, interest in innovation Excellent oral and written communication skills Advanced level of English, proficiency in French would be an asset.
