'Responsible use' label needed as antibiotic fears grow

A new on-pack label could be the best way to quickly reduce the use of antibiotics in the livestock industry, according to a major new report for the UK government. From a literature review of 139 published, peer reviewed articles, experts at the Review on Antimicrobial Resistance concluded that there is "sufficient evidence showing that the world needs to start curtailing the quantities of antimicrobials used in agriculture now" .
