CSX Corp. domestic coal shipments are expected to decline at least 5 percent this year, making it more difficult for the company to reach its goals, CSX Chief Financial Officer Fredrik Eliasson said in a statement before his appearance at the JP Morgan Aviation, Transportation and Industrials Conference in New York City. Coal shipments make up a major part of CSX's business, representing 18 percent of total volume and 22 percent of revenue in 2014.

After more than 3,000 train engineers and conductors walked off the job in Canada at midnight Sunday, both CP Railway and Teamsters Canada union agreed to seek mediated arbitration, which will put workers back on the job while talks continue.

Record titanium shipments strengthen RTI's revenue, earnings

Pittsburgh-based RTI said it produced a record 6.7 million pounds of titanium in the fourth quarter as it delivered 31 seat-track systems for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. RTI shipped 18.9 million pounds of titanium for the full year, as well as 131 Boeing 787 seat-track systems.
