Guardian: New York city could experience up to 22% more deaths from extreme summertime heat in the coming decade under global warming, according to a study of the impact of climate trends. The higher deaths will be partially offset by a reduction in deaths due to the milder winters predicted in Manhattan. The number of new cars and light trucks registered in Hawaii during the first quarter rose 9.8 percent, compared to the same period last year, and the Hawaii Automobile Dealers Association expects new vehicle sales to rise by 7.6 percent for all of 2013.
