Auxilium Pharmaceuticals Inc.'s board has rejected an approximately $1.4 billion unsolicited takeover offer from Ireland's Endo International PLC. Auxilium, based in Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania, had adopted a one-year "poison pill" shareholder rights plan last week.

MTA Rejects Inflammatory Subway Ads

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says it has rejected a series of controversial advertisments an advocacy group is trying to run on buses and subways. Calling it a safety issue, MTA officials say the ad could "imminently incite or provoke violence or other immediate breach of the peace."

Anatel rejects requests for changes to 4G auction

(Telecompaper) Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) has rejected most requests asking for changes to the 4G auction planned for 30 September, reports O Globo. Requests were submitted by operators Claro, Vivo, Oi, as well as industry associations and financial institutions. Among them were calls to set maximum amounts to be spent by the auction winners in clearing the 700 MHz band, now occupied by analogue radio and TV broadcasters, and payment rules for the licenses. The regulating body only upheld some technical suggestions for clarifications and adjustments.
