Twitter buys 900 IBM patents, dodging a potential infringement suit

Twitter has acquired over 900 patents from IBM, a move likely intended to settle IBM's claims that Twitter was infringing on at least three of its patents. IBM said Friday that Twitter acquired the patents in December, and that the companies had entered into a patent cross-license agreement covering other technologies that might be shared between the firms.

Source: University of Illinois An examination of 2012 corn yields relative to trend yields provides evidence of where the drought had its worst impacts. For corn, the lowest state yields occurred in Kentucky, Missouri, Indiana and Illinois. Most states in the Southeast had above-trend yields. Minnesota and North Dakota had yields close to trend. The report was issued by Gary Schnitkey, University of Illinois Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics. read more
