You will be joining the Project Support department. Under the hierarchical responsibility of the head of the Project Support Department, as Technical Project Leader Geometry Expert, you will be responsible for guaranteeing the correct performance of the software development projects in the image processing and mapping field. You will be involved in Pixel Factory geographical data production system and Street Factory 3D mapping model production system developments, working in collaboration with the Software Engineering and Project Support teams on the design, architecture, development, validation and deployment of our solutions.Your responsibilities will extend from the expression of need phase to the customer acceptance phase, monitoring the entire software development cycle and associated deliverables and guaranteeing the content and quality of all the internal or external deliverables on time and on budget.You will also be responsible for functionally managing coworkers allocated to the project from the various department teams and, with your expertise in Pixel Factory geometry and sensor modelling, guaranteeing the geometric quality of the products created by the Pixel Factory. To this end you must be consulted on and endorse any development affecting the field.As a key player in the Pixel FactoryStreet Factory development activities, you will be responsible for managing subcontractors, outsourcing certain developments and for managing Roadmap Pixel Factory Street Factory or customer projects.Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Managing the software development project planning, milestones, review, validation, delivery, documentation, training, budget for customer Pixel Factory projects or image processing and mapping components, Coordinating all the work to ensure onquality, ontime and onbudget performance, Representing the main focal point for nonsoftware development components customer, project leader, etc., Participating in defining the need stakeholder requirements, functional requirements, use cases and developing the specifications in collaboration with the Software Engineering and Project Support teams as applicable, ensuring that the content of technical and functional specifications is synchronised with the Requirements Management tool, Coordinating and participating in all the scheduled functional and technical reviews in the process, Collaborating with the software architects in producing the system architecture, Collaborating with the Software Engineering department on the technical design and definition of software components in line with the Pixel Factory strategy, Participating in drafting the specifications for outsourcing certain developments in collaboration with the heads of the Software Engineering and Project Support teams, Ensuring the overall coherence of all the developments affecting geometry and guaranteeing the geometrical quality of Pixel Factory products, Ensuring the coherent application of configuration management and the version management process, Managing the definition and performance of test plans in collaboration with the TestCertification group and the subcontractor as applicable, Controlling software development, unit tests, integration tests, whether performed internally andor outsourced, Managing and controlling validation and deliverables in collaboration with the Test Leader and the subcontractor as applicable, Participating in certain coding phases depending on skills, workload and type of project, Updating the indicators, schedule and project monitoring sheet weekly and performing weekly reporting to the Projects Support manager, maintaining the actions and risks associated with the project, Organising and managing the project team, Complying with the project process and participating in process improvement, Closing the project technical, and human, financial budget as per the project process.We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Engineering degree or equivalent, 5 years experience in image processing and mapping sensor modelling, geometry, DTM, DSM, orthorectification, mosaicking, Expertise in sensor geometry and associated optimisation processes, Experience in C and C development Initial experience in software project management organising the project, managing costs, managing deadlines, managing risks, Ideally you will have A good knowledge of JavaJ2EE, objectoriented design, database, GIS, distributed systems, system engineering, raster and vector data handling, Knowledge of aerial andor satellite mapping data production, Team management skills, Experience in managing technical assistants or subcontractors, Proficiency in office tools, project management tools MS Office and MS Project, Good organisational skills, and be very meticulous, respectful of procedures, discreet, autonomous and available, Good interpersonal skills, with a sense of responsibility, and an adaptable and flexible approach, Advanced level of English. As the successful applicant you will manage and lead a team of up to 10 Mechanical Architects on Earth Observation, Navigation and Science Missions for Airbus Defense and Space. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Leadership and Management Allocation of staff to projects, bids. Process improvements and studies including test campaigns and LEOPs.
