Sweden's manufacturing expansion unexpectedly gained speed in December as orders rose and employment grew at the fastest pace since May 2011. An index based on responses from purchasing managers rose to a seasonally adjusted 55.4 last month, the highest since April, from 52.7, Stockholm-based Swedbank AB , which compiles the data, said today.
