The newly improved crosswalk at SE 156th and Division Street was dedicated this morning in a short ceremony that also acknowledged the three fatalities that occurred at the location in recent years. The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT), along with Oregon & Southwest Washington Families for Safe Streets and Oregon Walks, met at the new Rapid Flashing Beacon to discuss why the safety improvements at the crossing and other Vision Zero actions are so important for the people of Portland.

The Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that downtown on-street parking rates will be $2 an hour, effective Monday Feb. 1, after approval by the Portland City Council and a recommendation from a stakeholder advisory committee.

News Release: PBOT moves forward with meter installation in NW Portland

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) announced today that it will begin installing parking meters along and adjacent to NW 21st and NW 23rd from Burnside to NW Vaughn, a significant step toward implementing the NW Portland Parking Plan approved by City Council in 2013. Installation of the approximately 360 meters is set to begin on February 2, 2016, weather permitting.
