The local facility operated by BioReference Laboratories is the only one in the state operated by the company to remain open this week after a cease-and-desist order was issued by Connecticut health officials. Eight blood collections facilities operated in the state by the New Jersey-based company were shut down after the state Department of Public Health issued a cease and desist order, according to a copy of the order, for operating without a license.
