Job description The SCISYS autonomy and robotics group have been at the forefront of cutting edge innovation for space applications including robotic Mars Exploration. As we grow this aspect of our space business and apply this technology in new, terrestrial applications we require highcalibre candidates to deliver our strategy. We currently seek recent graduates in the area of autonomous robotics to work in the SCISYS Space Division at our Bristol office. This is an extremely exciting opportunity to help take part in the development of future, autonomous mobile systems for space and apply this knowledge to professional, terrestrial robot applications. This post would suit an M.ScM.Eng level candidate with applied 3D Visualisation and mobile robotics experience. Experience in machine vision and robot trajectory planning would be a major benefit. Although ideal experience in the space sector is not essential. Tasks will include support for novel system concept design, integration and test for both space and non space applications. In addition to concept development and engineering tasks, candidates will be expected to present and communicate any work undertaken in both commercial and academic environments. Desired Skills and Experience As a junior engineer with the group you will be responsible for helping to develop and support a range of autonomous solutions for both space and non space applications. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates to grow their applied academic knowledge in an exciting application domain. Successful candidates should possess academic background and if possible some experience in the following areas 3D visualisation Mobile robot systems Machine vision Applied field experience with robotic systems Applied mechanical and electronic expertise for mobile systems Applied UAV sub 10kg flight experience Some industrial experience in space or nonspace domains In addition to the list above, the candidate must have the following M.ScM.Eng in Robotics, AI, Mechatronics, Computer Science or Engineering Excellent allround programming skills in Java, C, C, Realtime systems, Linux various and Windows Fluency in English, both spoken and written Eligibility to work and live in the UK Ability to work autonomously and technically interact with customer representatives Ability to integrate easily into the existing team, both technically and socially Ability to interpret and write technical documentation Ability to travel SCISYS offers a comprehensive range of benefits including pension, life assurance and private healthcare.
