Popular hotel Internet gateway devices vulnerable to hacking

Some Internet gateway devices commonly used by hotels and conference centers can easily be compromised by hackers, allowing them to launch a variety of attacks against guests accessing the Wi-Fi networks. The affected devices, designed to manage visitor-based networks, are manufactured by a company called ANTlabs and are used by both low-cost and luxury hotels around the world, according to researchers from security firm Cylance.

Hotel Shilla said it will buy a 44 percent stake in US in-flight duty free retailer DFASS for USD$105 million, the latest push abroad by a South Korean duty free operator amid intensifying competition at home. Shilla, a hotel and retail unit of Samsung Group and the world's No.7 duty free retailer by revenue, has an option to buy an additional 36 percent of DFASS in five years, it said in a statement.

Hotel Shilla Co Ltd is buying a 44 percent stake in in-flight duty-free retailer DFASS for $105 million via its U.S.-based affiliate, the South Korean hotel and duty-free operator said on Monday.
