Position Reference 283 You will have the opportunity to contribute to activities mainly corresponding to various stages of the Detailed Design Phase C of a given programme under definition and development, and Phase D Implementation and Validation, as contribution to Integration, Verification and Validation. The main emphasis is on the mission control and operations MCO subsegment of the EPSSG programme. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include System engineering support in the lifecycle of a system Requirements engineering mainly related to the verification processes, and encompassing downward and upward traceability, allocation and apportionment, and management with respect to verification control databases and the verification process Design ensuring that the design of the mission control and operations elements are complete and appropriately described by the functional, physical and software characteristics Planning, preparation and execution of integration and verification, with the final objective to demonstrate that the deliverables conform to the specified requirements. Specifically for ground segment phase C and D, the Contractor shall provide engineering service for the following engineering activities Support to the procurement of mission control and operation elements by advising on technical solutions proposed by the responsible contractors, by reviewing documentation to confirm its compliance with the requirements, and by ensuring the suitability and consistency of the IVV approach and Test Specification Test Harness Support to the preparation and execution of the testing, integration and acceptance of procured elements Support to the installation of ground segment elements at sites, and their integration into the overall Ground Segment system Verification and validation IV V of the integrated Ground Segment Participation in formal reviews and technical meetings at MCO subsegment and Ground Segment level. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a University Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline. You have the ability to maintain a system overview. You have at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in the areas and disciplines stated below with emphasis on IV V of mission control and operations systems and elements Experience in system engineering practices and processes, especially in the field of space systems engineering, including knowledge of ECSS standards and system life cycle processes Extensive experience in mission control and operations systems for large and complex Earth Observation missions, including SCOS2K based control systems and CCSDS SLEbased interfaces with TT C Stations Experience in testing and verification of mission control and operations systems and in their integration into the overall ground segment Experience in management and traceability of complex requirements structures and the management of their verification via VCDs Experience in the preparation of ground segment documentation relating to requirements engineering, design, and IV V planning and execution, but with a focus on IV V documentation. The GNC Systems Department is also conducting research and development of promising and strategic technologies for AOCS and GNC systems. The guidance and control group works within the field of research and development of guidance and control systems for space applications. We thoroughly analyze dynamic systems to synthesize robust and performant guidance and control solutions in order to achieve a highly reliable, controlled system. This encompasses system identification, controller design and trajectory optimization. Our activities range from mathematical problem formulation and modelling to simulation, flight code implementation and software verification and validation in realtime environments The GNC Systems Department is involved as an official partner in the Mission to the Moon of PTScientists, the first European Moon landing mission. The mission objective is to be the first private company to safely land a spacecraft on the Moon, to explore the area around the Apollo 17 landing site with two rovers, and to send pictures and videos down to Earth. In the frame of this project, the GNC Systems Department is leading the development of the GNC subsystem as scientific partner. The work comprises the development of optical navigation technologies, the controller synthesis for descent and soft landing, the optimization of the landing trajectory as well as the comprehensive verification of all associated elements.
