EU to object to Vodafone takeover of Unitymedia - report

However, the increased competition in the Italian market from the arrival of Iliad meant a decline in 3 Group's customer base, to 51.0 million customers at the end of 2018 from 52.3 million a year earlier.

Cellnex eyeing takeover of France's TDF for EUR 3 bln - report

(Telecompaper) Spanish infrastructure operator Cellnex Telecom is planning to consolidate its leadership of the European towers market by acquiring a 60 percent controlling stake in France's TDF Infraestructure for around EUR 3 billion, according to unnamed financial sources cited by business daily Expansion. Cellnex is already present in France through its various deals with Bouygues Telecom and will be managing around 5,000 sites including new tower builds by 2022. TDF currently has a portfolio of some 13,900 sites, half of which are broadcasting towers and the rest mobile towers.
