Galileo Ground Mission Segment Engineer

For our activities in ESTEC, we are currently looking for a Galileo Ground Mission Segment Engineer. Main responsibilities The Position is mainly working on GALILEO Ground Segment processing facilities, in a role supporting the GALILEO Ground Mission Segment GMS team in particular, the detailed specific tasks include Participation to GMS related Integration, Verification and Qualification IVQ activities, such as test cases definition and preparation, formal tests witnessing, Verification Credit collection at Element and Segment level, anomalies followup at Element, Segment and System level Followup of the procurement actions related to the implementation of a set of GMS Elements, being the Technical Officer for elements like Message Generation Facility MGF, the Uplink Local Station ULS, and the Service Product Facility SPF including support to the monitoring of industrial contracts for the developments and generating and reviewing relevant documentation such technical requirements Evaluation of GMS design, with a specific focus on GMS Operations and Operability Improvements, Galileo Services provision, Online and Offline Monitoring, System Reporting, Technical Monitoring Control of GMS Assets, Mission Planning, Mission Support, Training and Maintenance evolutions of the GMS architecture and design Support to GMS engineering activities, as well as Galileo System level engineering activities, such as requirement engineering, change management and baseline evolutions DCPsDCNs, assessment of contractors RFDsRFWs Contribution to GMS and System reviews. Ideal candidate Requirements You should bring a University degree MSc minimum in telecommunications and signal processing or electronic engineering, at least 4 years of relevant working experience and the following Specific knowledge in the design and testing of Radio Navigation systems and equipment Strong knowledge on the design of satellite navigation systems, ranging and positioning techniques, RF, signal processing techniques, and GNSS security and processing facilities Have several years of experience relevant with the GNSS and GALILEO systems and equipment and have good knowledge of Radio Navigation processing, simulation and testing systems Be specialist in the implementation, maintenance and operation of complex Radio Navigation processing, simulation and test facilities for spacecraft, aircraft, maritime and land mobile applications Eligible for security clearance from their national security administration. We are looking for you as Galileo Control Centre Ground Segment Operational Validation Engineer mf Are you looking for a new and interesting activity in one of Europes most outstanding projects in the area of operation of navigation satellites? The Ground Segment Operational Validation GSOV is an activity spanning across Galileo Control Centres aimed at ensuring readiness of the Galileo infrastructure and related operational products in preparation for live operations. The GSOV Engineer is a member of the Ground Operations Engineering Team. Heshe will report to the Ground Engineering Manager. The work shall be supported in approximately equal share from the GCCI in Fucino, Italy and from the GCCD Oberpfaffenhofen D travelling between the 2 sites as needed. Occasional travel to other European locations is also to be foreseen. The responsibility is to plan and coordinate harmonized Ground Segment Operational Validation activities across Segments and Sites liaising effectively with the Operations Service provider and Segment Provider teams from Industry and Customer representatives. To plan and coordinate GSOV testing campaigns of upgraded ground infrastructure across more Segments To monitor and steer the development, planning and execution by CTMs of operational validation activities infrastructure and products within a given Segment as spread across 2 GCCs To contribute to operational product development addressing InterGCC operations To support operational and operability improvement processes for Ground Elements To chair meetings for planning and coordinating the access to validation infrastructure by more entities To coordinate the development and validation of interGCC operational support tools To produce technical notes, plans and other documentation as required plus regular activities status reports Your profile requires Degree in TelecommunicationsElectronicsInformatics Engineering, Physics with at least 5 years of work experience.
