We are looking for you as Galileo Ground Operations Engineer mf Are you looking for a new and interesting activity in an outstanding project in the area of the planning and implementation of the network system for a satellite control centre? This could be your field of responsibility Member of the Galileo Integrated System Operations Team Interface between ESA mission management, ground segment and operations engineering Coordination with external entities to support design and development of ground facilities and services, and conduct the operational interface to external facilities. Communication with ESA for clarification of operational needs. Preparation of engineering documentation for satellite ground systems Anomaly reporting, tracking and coordination across multiple sites Handling of ground system operational issues and inputs to operations engineering Configuration change tracking and coordination Preparation of engineering change requests Deployment tracking and coordination Identification and documentation of Ground Segment improvements Your profile requires University degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent At least 4 years work experience Satellite control centre and ground system engineering System engineering of large complex distributed computer systems Good English language skills Readiness to take on responsibility and good team and communication skills Permission to work in the European Union. Under the direct authority of the Director General, the Director of the Galileo Programme and NavigationRelated Activities is responsible for contributing to ESAwide management, supporting the ESA Director General in discharging his responsibility and tasks and participating in the pursuit of ESAs overall objectives. The Director contributes, in the area of Space Applications, to forming the Team of Teams at senior management level. In the framework of the ESA matrix organisation comprising programme directorates and support directorates, the Director of the Galileo Programme and NavigationRelated Activities, under delegation from the Director General, is responsible for the preparation and execution of the Galileo Programme and navigationrelated activities under ESA responsibility. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants for this post should have a higher technical or scientific education, coupled with indepth knowledge and experience in functions similar to those described above, preferably acquired in an international setting and including close cooperation with partner organisations. Software Systems Engineer Bristol 40k60k A professional engineering and consultancy services company to spacecraft operators and spacecraft primes is actively seeking a Software Systems Engineer. Tasks The Space Division seeks a versatile, knowledgeable and experienced senior software or systems engineer for its spacecraft ground segment activities. The successful candidate will become part of the successful Ground Segment operations group with the responsibility for supporting the overall specification, design, deployment and acceptance of spacecraft ground software systems. The first assignment involves performing a customer facing onsite role for the Galileo mission and will interface with all levels of the project from the end customers, users and subcontractors. The role involves Taking responsibility for key elements of the system, implemented and delivered by a subcontractor Maintaining the requirements baseline for those elements Ensuring design and implementation meet the requirements Analysispreparation of change requests and processing of subcontractor change responses Review of documentation datapacks including, design, test plans, test reports, user manuals etc. Attendance of acceptance campaigns both at the subcontractor site and end user sites Analysis and disposition of Software Problem Reports Technical support to provide input to customer documentationdatapacks Interfacing with the customer and users to discuss problems and changes as needed Essential skills The successful candidate will have a software engineering background and be able to demonstrate a thorough systems engineering approach from requirements through design and verification of delivered and accepted systems. The project standards must be adhered to and therefore an understanding of good software standards are required and an ability to work within project guidelines. The role will be customer facing, so the candidate must be fluent in English and confident in their role representing the company and interfacing with the customer and operators.
