Documentalist Librarian for the ESA Galileo Programme

For one of our main customers, ESA, we are currently looking for a Documentalist Librarian to lend support in the Galileo Physical ICT Pers. Sec. Unit The task covers the operations, maintenance and evolutions of the Documentation Management System DMS, including processes, processes and the use of supporting electronic documentation management tool, for a given projectprogramme or organisational unit. It includes the following typical duties Regular review of the status of documents in the different archives and where appropriate register this information in the DMS database. Document registration, distribution and archiving, as well as provision of reproduction services. Process configuration controlled document changes and of official papers relevant to the activities of the unit. Supporting users for retrieving documents from local DMS, DMSs from external partners andor industry, out of paper archives, other sources like ESTEC library, scanned documents on CDROM or via Internet, etc. Provision of paper copies of electronic documents on request, creation of electronic versions of documents, Management of original files Related support to project reviews Support to enhancements of the document management concepts and of future improvements The above tasks must be implemented in line with applicable configuration management processes and standards and in close collaboration with relevant CM authority. Experience and education Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken knowledge of another official ESA language is and asset. For site specific functions fluent knowledge of the local national language is also required. University degree Bachelor from a recognised Institution of secondary studies or equivalent qualification in Business Administration or Communications as relevant, with typically 4 years of relevant experience The work associated to this position requires handling classified documentation. Galileo is Europes global navigation satellite system, which will provide a highly accurate global positioning service under civilian control. The Galileo system is currently being brought into operation, with the constellation of orbiting satellites being established in the coming months. The ESA Galileo Project Office, based at ESTEC, The Netherlands, oversees the overall programme and ensures that the various elements of the Galileo system are in place ready to support Galileo services. Responsibilities We are looking Senior Software Systems AIV Engineer with knowledge of the Galileo ground system elements working at our customers premises in Nordwijk, The Netherlands. As a core team member of ESAs Galileo Project Management Office team, you will be responsible for Assembly, Integration, and Validation AIV activities of the Ground Control Segment GCS elements being deployed in the Galileo Control Centre in Oberpfaffenhofen Followup of the relevant verification and validation activities, based on established GCS system design and interfaces Review, comment and witness the execution of test cases and test procedures for each formal milestone Ensure the evolution of the test cases and test procedures remains compatible with the GCS design and verification agreements The position requires adhoc frequent travelling to Munich DE and other European sites. This includes short duration stays across Europe to carry out acceptance and deployment activities in the relevant locations. This is a fulltime position with a planned starting date in August 2015. Qualifications Competencies Applicants shall have an university degree, in a relevant discipline or other suitable qualification. The following background and experience is required Good knowledge of the Galileo system design and of satellite control infrastructures e.g. ESOC, DLR, Eumetsat, etc. Deep knowledge of the concept of AIV and Qualification implemented in the Ground Control Segment Practical experience in development, integration, verification and testing of satellite control infrastructure, and especially in multimission SCOS2000 based Mission Control Systems Experience related to developments in the Galileo project GIOVE, IOV Fluent written and spoken English You shall have shall have or be eligible to European security clearance.
