The successful candidate will report to the Production Manager and will take on tasks related to the integration and verification in factory of new versions of the Galileo Ground Control Systems. You will be working on a high profile project to design, procure, deploy and verify the flight operations system for the Galileo constellation of satellites. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Software installation and configuration Anomaly investigation Development of test plans to verify requirements Execution of verification campaigns including building test data sets Linux and VMWare configuration Network configuration Hardware specification. This role will involve significant travel for business GermanyItaly and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Significant experience in Software engineering Strong Design Handson experience Software Integration and Verification Strong experience with Linux and VMWare Experience in Configuration and testing Basic networking experience Hardware specification Experience of Flight Operations infrastructure would be desirable Knowledge of UMLSysML. A vacancy for a Senior Systems Engineer Galileo Ground Control Systems has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Portsmouth. The successful applicant will be responsible to design, procure, deploy and verify the satellite flight operations system for the Galileo constellation. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Systems Engineering and will take on significant responsibilities within the design team for Galileo GCS. The successful candidate will be subject to security clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Requirements analysis and functional decomposition Delivery of incremental systems design and baseline design for some component solutions Technical analysis of system design issues Performance budgeting Interface definition Authoring of technical specifications.
