Galileo Key Management Facilities KMF Engineer Spaceopal is the operations prime contractor for the European Galileo Satellite Navigation System and manages all Galileo Operations. The awarded European Commission EC contract to Spaceopal is more than just its satellites in space. Tasks and Responsibilities The Galileo Key Management Facilities KMF provide encryption management of Galileo services. The SPO KMF Engineer is a member of the Spaceopal SPO Ground Operations Engineering Team part of the Galileo Operations Prime contractor. The SPO KMF Engineer will report to the SPO Ground Engineering Manager. The responsibility is to assure harmonized and coordinated Operational KMF Engineering activities across Segments and Sites liaising effectively with SPO and Core Team Member teams mainly TPZ and DLRGfR, Segment Provider teams from Industry and Customer representatives ESA. The main tasks are To monitor and steer the development and releases of Security Operational Procedures SOP and support the definition and planning of the related SOP validation activities To support the definition and planning of the operational validation activities of any new KMF infrastructure HWSW release To manage operational and operability improvement proposals of KMF Elements To participate to all KMF design reviews To produce technical notes, plans and other documentation as required plus regular activities status reports Required Qualification and experience To be eligible, a candidate must Essential Degree in TelecommunicationsElectronicsInformatics Engineering, Physics. With at least 5 years of work experience Have expertise and background in Space Systems Engineering andor in Spacecraft Operations in an international environmentmission Experience and background in Systems Security Operations Have experience in managing and tasking technical teams Possess a track record of work achievements from organized work planning Possess good liaising and communication skills Have a fluent knowledge of English Have security clearance up to Secret Advantageous Experience and background in GALILEO or EGNOS programmes Knowledge of German andor Italian languages. Work location Work location shall primarily be the GCCI in Fucino, Italy with frequent travel to GCCD Oberpfaffenhofen D and SPO premises in Munich D plus occasional travel to ESTEC NL and Leatherhead GB. Tasks and Responsibilities The Spaceopal SPO Galileo Operations team is headed by the Operations Service Manager OSMs and act as the primary point of contact for all Galileo operation tasks. The Operations Service Managers are managing the daily operations and are supported by GCCI Mission Operations Management and GCCD Constellation Operations Management as well as the ILS organization with its central entity ILS Support Desk and the remote ILSMaintenance teams. The new position OPSILS Service Manager is a support function to the Operation Service Manager and deals with the daily coordination between the ILS Support Desk organization, Maintenance Organizations and the MissionConstellation operations teams and the alignment of OPSILS reporting. This new position will be fully embedded in the operations planning, execution and reporting cycles and will keep track of all ILS related issues arising from Galileo operations. Additionally the ILS Maintenance processes are coordinated within the ILS Teams. As such, this position acts as the interface between the Operation Service Manager and the operational ILS organization. To participate to Service anomaly investigation process providing the technical and operational information in order to contribute to the analysis of unplanned events which effect the production and quality of the navigation messages OpsILS Service Manager will report to the SPO Operation Service Manager Lead OSM. The main tasks are Keep track of all ground operations related issues and assess the impact on the ground infrastructure within the Galileo Control Centres and the Remote Sites Liaise with Mission Operation, Constellation Operation, GDDN, remote site teams to followup and resolve ground related issues incidents, planned and unplanned events etc. Liaise with Operation Service Manager to reportmonitor ground related events and activities Liaise with ILS Support Desk organization and local maintenance teams in order to follow up ILS Maintenance related issues Ensure harmonized reporting between OPS reporting and ILS reporting Support operational Configuration Management CCR CCB processes and GMAM meetings Responsible for ILS and KPI weekly and monthly reporting Attend related OPS ILS coordination meetings and Anomaly Review Boards on ground infrastructure related issues Contribute to Operations Progress Reports Liaise with Operations Engineering Team for all engineering related aspects. Support the semiweekly Ops Planning Meetings Support the Mid Term Planning Meeting as required Support ESA Coordination Meetings as required Required Qualification and experience To be eligible, a candidate must Essential Have at least 7 years of work experience on MissionSatellite Control Operations and related Maintenance processes with an ILS capacity Have experience and background in GALILEO Program, in particular the ground system GMS, GCS and GDDN installations Be familiar with Service Management processes ITIL, operations reporting processes, SLA and KPI Have a good technical understanding of the deployed ground elements and the related maintenance tasks Have experience in managing and tasking remote technical teams Possess good liaising and communication skills Have a fluent knowledge of English Have Security Clearance. Advantageous Have experience in Galileo Operations Have experience in Help Desk and Trouble ticketing systems and their associated processes and reporting mechanisms FMEA Experience Failure Mode and Effects Analysis Knowledge of German andor Italian languages Availability to frequent travel in Europe.
