An exciting opportunity to work as a Spacecraft Operations Controller in a prestigious Geostationary spacecraft mission at our customer site based near Munich, Germany. The earliest start date for this position will be 1st of August 2016 and the submission deadline for interested candidates is 10th of June 2016. RESPONSIBILITIESDUTIES Certification as a spacecraft Controller Supervision of system performance and of automatic service provision to customers Maintenance of actual mission planning data and the mission schedule Monitoring of the health status of all satellites components Monitoring the use of the satellite payload Levell response to anomalies, based on procedures Data collection after anomalies Activation of engineering support if required User Help Desk first Response QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE Bachelors Degree in Aerospace Engineering or any other technical field. Not necessary in case of considerable work experience in spacecraft operations. Some experience in satellite andor ground segment operations Knowledge of Linux and MS Office Fluency in English ESSENTIAL SKILLS Collaborative and team worker Ambitious Selfstarter and fast learner Good communication skills Solution oriented Security Clearance 1 Confidential will be required. Successful applicants will join Galileo Operations Bid. As members of the Galileo Mission Operations Team reporting to Airbus GSOps Operations Manager OM, the Galileo Mission Controllers MISCON will undertake system operations tasks and duties to operate the Galileo mission segment as required to maintain the high availability of the signals broadcast by the Galileo satellites. The role of MISCON is an onshift position, with a rota to provide 247 coverage of the operational position. The MISCON will Monitor the systems which indicate the health and status of the Galileo mission control and communications network elements Execute defined procedures to manage the Galileo networks and associated mission control elements, in accordance with the scheduled operations plan, ensuring that safety criteria are respected at all times Identify anomalies on the network and ground systems, and escalate accordingly Take corrective action as necessary, applying the approved contingency procedures Prepare mission segment and network operations reports for offline evaluation and analysis Work with the Engineering Support Team for mission segment corrections or improvements. Interface with other internal and external teams, in particular with the operations team active at the alternate Galileo Control Centre Please note that work locations are at the Galileo Control Centres in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany or in Fucino, Italy. Exelis is the prime contractor to NASA for the RBI.
