Operating from 3–6 Vdc and -10 to +50°C, 11 mm dia x 49 mm long modules are ergonomically designed for integration into space-restricted applications. Modules combine OCLARO (Opnext) laser diode with externally adjustable optics, Panasonic aspherical glass lens, electronics, and anodized aluminum housing. Brass lens holder promotes smooth and accurate focusing by using fine pitched thread, and CW lasers produce elliptical beam at 635, 639, 660, 830, and 852 nm. Supplied in hermetically sealed metal can TO-257 package, general-purpose CHT-AMALTHEA operates from -55 to +225°C, includes 2 diodes, and comes in 3 configurations: common anode, common cathode, and dual series. Each diode has reverse voltage of 80 V, max forward current of 3 A DC, and 4 A peak at 225°C. Diodes present junction capacitance of 36 and 56 pF at 20 and 80 V reverse voltages, respectively, and rectifier bridge can be implemented using 2 AMALTHEA.
