Main responsibilities You will be responsible for Project Control activities of one or more of the Departments Earth Explorer projects. As such, you will be assigned to and directly support the respective project managerss and will liaise closely with related services inside and outside the Directorate. You will report hierarchically to the Head of the Earth Explorer Project Control Section in the Project Control and Management Support Office and functionally to the project managers of the projects that you will be assigned to. Typical Project Control duties will include preparing, maintaining and reporting on the overall programmatic aspects cost, finance, schedule, industrial return, risk, progress control as well as general project administration of the project missions, utilising established procedures and information systems preparing, maintaining and reporting on status of the project mission Cost At Completion including space segment, payload, launch, ground segment and Agency provided services, including annual cost plans and manpower planning identifying and reporting potential problem areas and proposing remedial actions in coordination with the project managers preparing, administrating and monitoring of Project procurement actions Contracts, Purchase Orders, etc. within ESA SAP system esap or other tools as required monitoring and reporting on overall financial status of industrial contracts and internal costs, including overheads, for compliance with budgetary provisions and financial regulations preparing forward looking estimates relevant to project specific data evolution. Maintenance of historical project databases and Project Plan Annexes monitoring industrial contracts and interfacing with Industry on all financial and administrative matters to ensure their compliance with established formal requirements for management, costs, schedule, risks, industrial return, reporting including deviations from plans and trends contributing to the preparation of contract change documents participating in Contract Change negotiations and Change Control Review Boards supporting the Head of the Earth Explorer Project Control Section in executing the sections duties, including participation in the definition, maintenance and improvement of the project control procedures and computerized information and controlling systems Assist in the preparation of projects audits. Ideal candidate You should bring a Master Degree, MBA or a Degree in Business Administration, at least 4 years of relevant working experience and the following Experience in the Administration and Control of large projects, in the use of planning and project control tools, and in budget and accounting SAP software and databases is desired Significant experience with SAP system is required Good knowledge of Excel is an asset Excellent planning and organisation skills Attention to detail Ability to work effectively in a team environment. You should also possess good judgment, integrity and good communications skills. Working language is English. For our activities in EUMETSAT, we are currently looking for two Spacecraft Controllers on a fixed term contract until April 2017. Main responsibilities Operate on a 247 shift basis all or part of the mission control system, which includes parts of the ground segment as well as the space segment Assist in configuring and testing the operational system to support the operations In case of ground or space segment anomaly take corrective action as necessary, applying the contingency emergency procedures approved for the mission to ensure spacecraft safety and the continuity of service provision to users Participate in other operationsrelated activities small system development, procedures development or maintenance etc. upon request of the Team Leader. Ideal candidate Requirements The candidates should have a solid background in a technical or electronic environment, to the level of Senior Technician. A formal qualification to ONC or HNC would be advantageous. Ex service personnel should have completed a service College apprenticeship in electronicstelecommunications, and possess a background in Avionics, Air Defence, Air Radar or Communications. Or the candidate should have a degree at least at BSc level in a related subject such as Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics etc. Experience working with computer systems and PC literacy is required. Database knowledge would be useful. Candidates must be adaptable, selfdisciplined and able to work in a calm and correct manner under conditions of stress. The position requires working a shift rota candidates must be able to fit in well within a small operations team.
