(Telecompaper) French operator Bouygues Telecom continued to post healthy growth in revenues and EBITDA in the three months to September, supported by a growing customer base across its fixed and mobile businesses. Service revenues increased to EUR 1.1 billion, up 5.0 percent year-on-year (+4.8% in Q2), and EBITDA jumped 20.1 percent to EUR 382 million (+11.4% in Q2).
European Parliament approves new telecom regulatory code

In addition to measures designed to support the roll-out of fibre and 5G networks, the legislation extends consumer protection rules to OTT service providers and introduces a cap on the cost of intra-EU calls and SMS.

Telecom Italia CEO Genish ousted by board, chairman takes over

(Telecompaper) Telecom Italia (TIM) has announced that its chief executive Amos Genish has been relieved of his powers following a majority vote of its board of directors. The company's chairman Fulvio Conti will take over on an interim basis and has been granted a mandate to "resolve further obligations in relation to the existing working relationship with Genish". A further board meeting has been called for 18 November to appoint a new CEO, said TIM in a short statement that provided no explanation for Genish's departure other than thanking him for the work done "in 14 months of intense activity".
