AIA released poll, conducted by Christian Science Monitor, at Paris Air Show indicating 54% of public respondents favor increased non-military use of unmanned aircraft systems. Results also indicate public opinion that governments should resolve perceived privacy issues, airspace regulations, and other challenges. In poll, 25% of public is aware of non-military uses such as law enforcement, search and rescue, flood monitoring, wildlife conservation, and fighting wildfires. New International Poll Highlights Public Support for Civil Unmanned Aircraft

AIA will host panel discussion about current and potential uses of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), including growth opportunities in commercial sector, in AIA Chalet at Paris Airshow on June 19 at 11:00 am. Open to public, this panel will present preliminary findings from international poll, conducted by Christian Science Monitor, which tested public perceptions of non-military use of UAS. Final results will be tabulated and released at a later event in July.
