US govt starts issuing licences to allow limited Huawei sales

(Telecompaper) The US government has started granting licences to some American companies to resume sales to Huawei, the Commerce Department announced. The special licences allow certain companies to avoid the restrictions on doing business with Huawei since it was put on the department's Entity List in May due to security concerns.

Huawei granted another 90-day reprieve for serving US customers

(Telecompaper) The US government has extended the general licence regime for American companies doing business with Huawei for another 90 days. This will allow the many rural operators using Huawei equipment to continue to operate, despite Huawei remaining on the Entity List of banned companies, according to the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) of the US Department of Commerce.
