Our client is looking for an Instrument Data Processing Algorithms Software Engineer to support Routine Operations phase of the Meteosat Second Generation MSG Programme, to support development activities in support of the Meteosat Third Generation MTG and Eumetsat Polar System Second Generation EPSSG Programmes and to be integrated into the INR Calibration Section of the Remote Sensing Products Division RSP, which provides support to the operations of the MSG satellites, as well as development support to MTG and EPSSG. MTG Development Support Reviewing, analysing and anomaly investigation of MTG instrument data processing software from procurements supporting the integration, verification and validation of MTG instrument data processing deliveries supporting the development of a MTG reference processor at EUMETSAT prototyping selected instrument data processing algorithms. EPSSG Development Support Reviewing, analysing and anomaly investigation of EPSSG instrument data processing software from procurements supporting the integration, verification and validation of EPSSG instrument data processing deliveries prototyping selected instrument data processing algorithms. All applicants should have strong mathematical skills, and experience in the implementation of numerical algorithms, ideally in an image processing context, objectoriented system design, C programming and UNIX. Experience in realtime image processing of large volumes of data, geometric correction navigation registration of satellite images, radiometric correction calibration of satellite images, performance optimisation of algorithms, IDL or MATLAB, integration, verification, and validation of realtime data processing systems and familiarity with ECSS standards, in particular those related to software development would be an advantage. All candidates must have a University or similar degree in a relevant discipline such as aerospace engineering, physics or remote sensingand be fluent in English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of French would be an advantage.
