It seeks to properly preserve patient access to accurate prescription information, maintains incentives for innovation, and promotes competitive market for biologic therapies.

California legislation to require that used vehicles are repaired before resale

The trade association CalBev, representing members of the non-alcoholic beverage industry, scorned San Francisco supervisors' plans introduced at Tuesday's board meeting requiring health warnings on advertisements for sugary beverages, ending advertising of such drinks on city property and ending city spending of taxpayer dollars on those drinks. The new legislation comes less than a year after a ballot initiative for a tax on sodas and other sugary beverages sold in the city was defeated.

Senators have reintroduced the Prevention of Antibiotic Resistance Act, legislation that would require the Food and Drug Administration to withdraw its approval of medically important antibiotics used for disease prevention or control that are at high risk of abuse, unless the producer of the drug can demonstrate that its use in agriculture does not pose a risk to human health. read more
