The City Council of Berkeley, California last night unanimously voted to require electronics retailers to warn customers about the potential health risks associated with radio-frequency radiation emitted by cellphones, setting itself up to become the first city in the country to implement a cellphone "right to know" law. "If you carry or use your phone in a pants or shirt pocket or tucked into a bra when the phone is ON and connected to a wireless network, you may exceed the federal guidelines for exposure to RF radiation," the notice, which must be posted in stores that sell cellphones, reads in part.

Queensland Competition Authority chairman Malcolm Roberts has been named as the new chief executive of the oil and gas industry lobby group Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association, just ahead of the group's annual conference in Melbourne next week. Dr Roberts, a former chief of staff to Ian Macfarlane, Federal Resources Minister, replaces David Byers, who resigned in March to take up a role with BHP Billiton in policy and government affairs.
Search resumes for body of man whose boat was struck

Authorities have resumed the search for the body of a man they believe died after going into the Saginaw River from a small boat that was struck by a barge. Saginaw County Sheriff William Federspiel tells The Saginaw News that dive team members were working Saturday morning, a day after rescuers were called near the Bay County-Saginaw County line.
