Responsibilities will include most of the following Technical contribution to international collaborative projects in the area of GNSS Contribution to the architecture development of a multiconstellation multifrequency GNSS receiver Design and verification of algorithms for satellite navigation systems Development, validation, and implementation of different GNSS receiver integrity monitoring concepts Work with other Satellite Navigation team members to support implementation, debugging, and verification of the algorithms on the target platform Requirements Masters or Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on satellite navigation or radio communications other engineering degrees such as Computer Science are acceptable provided the candidate has a relevant background. Fluent English Experience with ONE OR MORE areas Proven academic or professional experience with the satellite navigation receiver technology Basic knowledge of the concepts for maintaining the system integrity in satellite navigation Experience with digital signal processing algorithm development Experience with RealTime Operating Systems RTOS for real time embedded processing applications is a plus Experience with MatlabSimulink

DUTIES The postholder will be deployed in the Radio Navigation Systems and Techniques Section and will be responsible for radio navigation systems, techniques and equipment for space and ground applications. Principal tasks and responsibilities will include carrying out design, simulation and development testing activities, and following up industrial procurement of radio navigation and RF metrology equipment for space applications participating in harmonisation and standardisation activities in the domain of space receiver technology supporting system validation of navigation projects e.g. EGNOS and Galileo, through participation in studies, simulations and laboratory testing for the assessment of endtoend functionalities and performance. This will include measurement campaigns, data processing and field testing supporting navigation projects e.g. EGNOS and Galileo in the design, simulation, development and testing of radio navigation equipment and techniques for groundspace applications participating in studies supporting the definition andor analysis of current and future radio navigation systems e.g. EGNOSGalileo evolution and GPS modernisation monitoring contracts with industry for studies on radio navigation concepts and for the development of radio navigation tools and equipment generating technical requirements and statements of work for the tasks to be performed by industry from early conceptual studies through to full development and qualification of spaceground equipment contributing to the developmentusage of laboratory facilities in support of the development testing of radio navigation systems contributing to the dissemination of technical knowledge and lessons learned across the Agency actively participating in weekly section meetings and other periodic events at division, department and directorate level. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants for this post should have a Masters degree or equivalent qualification in telecommunications or electrical engineering, with a good background in satellite radio navigation systems, receiver RD particularly GPS, EGNOS and Galileo and several years experience of working in these fields. Experience in space receiver development is a key asset for the post. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to establish positive working relations inside and outside the Agency and should therefore have good interpersonal and communication skills. They should have the ability to work autonomously, effectively and cooperatively in a diverse, international team environment and to define and implement solutions in line with team and individual objectives and project deadlines. In addition, applicants should have good analytical, organisational and reporting skills, a proactive attitude to solving problems and an interest in innovative technologies. Candidates shall be eligible for security clearance from their National Authority. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these two languages is required together with a working knowledge of the other language. Knowledge of another member state language is an asset.
