In this role, your primary objective is to provide highest quality integrated, turnkey systems which meet the companys system performance requirements. Your Responsibilities Design, specify and implement RF TTC Satellite Control Systems including tracking antennas, baseband and control room systems and satellite ranging systems Design, specify and implement fixed, transportable or mobile uplink or receiveonly stations Design subsystems and implement earth station equipment including antennas, HPAs, switch matrix, updownconverters, modulators and interfacility connection equipment Design, specify and manage the integration of measurement, communications and monitoring and control systems including IOT and MC Systems Perform transmission analysis, in particular link budget calculations and studies in support of business development and customer services Define and specify building and IP infrastructure as required for such ground based systems Handle budgets, procurements, manage installations and the operational handover of ground segment and communications systems In the scope of the project, coordinate with other functions Project Control, Legal, Finance for the transparent and effective realization of assigned projects You must efficiently own and implement the related full project life cycles from requirements collectiondefinition in and outside the company and budgeting via projectprogram management incl. procurement or designdevelopment to the operational 2nd3rd level support You shall as well deliver clear, concise, timely and constructive strategic or technical guidance and be cooperative support to peerscustomers in and outside the company Your Profile A recognized ElectricalTelecommunications Engineering degree BSMS or similar Minimum of 5 years relevant handson engineering experience in the satellite communications domain as Development or Systems Engineer, Test Integration Engineer, andor Project Manager Handson experience in RF measurement techniques, test and verification of ground stations and auxiliary systems Proven flexibility and reliability in delivering successfully ground solutions globally without direct supervision Highly experienced in developing and maintaining high availability satellite or telecommunications systems through the use of manned and unmanned facilities Thorough understanding of and ability to use System Engineering processes ExcellentGood command of MS Office package Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Autocad, Excel VBA, Windows and Linux or similar Excellent written and oral communication skills, in English, other languages are considered as valuable assets Effective communication and presentations skills in working with both technical and nontechnical support staff Ability and wiliness to integrate into an international environment, to travel internationally and to communicate with international peers and customers We offer you A diverse workplace. Senior System Engineer, Platform The onsite resident engineer provides bus technical leadership to the OneWeb program at the spacecraft manufacturer. The Resident Engineer will ensure sound technical execution of the design, assembly integration and test during the production phase of the program. He or she will follow the program through the first ten satellites in Toulouse, France, through the wider production of the wider constellation in Florida, United States. This role will be part of a wider onsite engineering team responsible for ensuring compliance with the specifications of the contract and management of the schedule. The onsite representatives ensure a unified and efficient engineering process shadowing the manufacturer, in a fast pace environment. The team is a highly capable technical group of experienced engineers who create, built, and test leading edge satellite subsystems. Our focus is identifying and resolving critical issues as early as possible to ensure, ontime, onbudget and accurate product delivery in an agile and focused style. Job Overview The Resident Engineer will collaborate across engineering disciplines to support the process associated with hardware, preproduction to orbit delivery, review boards, readiness reviews, subsystem and spacecraft data review and final acceptance with primary focus on the Bus. He or she will monitor multiple vehicles design performance specifications and ensure contract compliance represent the Bus team during design, development, production and test phases and, embed integration with onsite representatives to ensure a unified presence supporting the collective mission. Main Responsibilities Ensure the Satellite Contractor is compliant with all contractual specification requirements relating to the Bus Provide general system engineering and integration support in all areas with emphasis on the bus including development and verification of requirements, specifications, interfaces, and technical oversite support Monitor design, fabrication, and testing of a satellite Bus, assuring technical issues are properly addressed. Monitor and review of pertinent fabrication, assembly, and test operations at the unit and subsystem level Provide technical leadership in identifying, mitigating, and resolving applicable risks and issues associated with the development, integration and test of the multiple small satellite bus subsytsems Review of System and Payloadlevel Test Matrix, Test plans, Test procedures, Subsystem and Unit Test Data Reviews of spacecraft component qualification status and hardware technical acceptability Monitor and review of satellite level assembly, integration, and test operations including preenvironmental system performance test, environmental testing, and post environmental system performance tests Comparing the system performance with the contract specification requirements and identifying major and minor noncompliances. Synthesize and present technical data clearly and concisely, providing recommendations and informing management of technical activities, issues and accomplishments through reports and briefings to senior level management Essential Knowledge Skills Relevant engineering degree At least 10 years experience leading and monitoring satellite programs as a bus resident engineer, to include design, manufacture, assembly, integration and test of bus systems, in a LEO, MEO or GEO constellation. Tasks Thanks to the seniority and consolidated relevant experience in the field, the candidate will play a crucial technical lead role in supporting operations preparation for different upcoming missions at SCISYS, like the German telecommunication mission Heinrich Hertz H2SAT, phases CDE1, the Mission to the Moon and the ESA Lagrange space weather mission phases AB. The candidate will be able to contribute from the very beginning of the project lifecycle with system level responsibility and eventually be a core member of the mission operations team for H2SAT. The candidate will report directly to the respective mission operations manager. For this position, the following tasks are currently envisaged, but the assignments might change during the projects development depending on the operational needs Act as team technical lead for operations preparation for the assigned missions, in continuous coordination with the mission operations manager Provide system level expertise and guidance Review, refine and complement relevant documentation generated during preceding phases Support the development of all the required documentation as per operational phase, according to ECSS standard Develop and validate the Flight Operations Procedures for LEOP, IOT and routine operations Prepare training material and provide training to other members of the operations team Define, coordinate, conduct and document system validation activities as simulation campaigns, SVTs, mission rehearsals, etc. Test and validate all operational items Perform operational configuration management Participate in technical meetings, formal reviews, and scheduling and planning meetings Support H2SAT LEOP, platform payload IOT, GTOGEO transfer and final GEO orbit slot acquisition as member of the operations team. Essential requirements The successful candidate will have A university master degree in aerospace, mathematics, physics or equivalent Demonstrated and consolidated experience preferably with more than 7 years in the field of spacecraft operations Fluency in English.
