Thermal Probe yields consistent Bake Cycle S Curve.
2014-05-13 14:30:47| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today
Placed under bread or bun dough, Pan+Dough Probe simultaneously captures pan/dough interface temperature and dough core temperature. Readings are used to produce Bake Cycle S Curve indicating critical temperature points for yeast kill, gelatinization, and arrival time as they relate to percentage of travel through baking chamber. Since stationary vertical probe is always at fixed penetration depth, measurements are always at same reference point from one batch to next. This story is related to the following:Temperature Probes

May 2014 WASDE: Higher corn yields and record soybean production expected for 2014
2014-05-09 21:23:00| Corn & Soybean Digest
Source: USDA The USDA released the monthly WASDE report on May 9, estimating corn production up from the record 2013-14 year with higher corn yields offsetting reduced plantings. Average corn price is projected down to $3.85-$4.55. Soybean production is at record highs due to record yields and harvested area. Average price has dropped to $9.75-11.75. read more

Releasing cork in Wilkes Basin Antarctica yields unstoppable sea-level rise
2014-05-08 18:31:00| Climate Ark Climate Change & Global Warming Newsfeed
Environmental News Network: Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) latest study shows that if East Antarcticas Wilkes Basins rim of ice lets go, it is likely to trigger a persistent ice discharge into the ocean, resulting in unstoppable sea-level rise for thousands of years to come. Using the ground profile under the ice, the researchers used computer ice flow simulations under the ice sheet. "East Antarctica's Wilkes Basin is like a bottle on a slant," says lead-author Matthias Mengel, "once uncorked, it...
