Thirteen current and former employees of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority have been accused of cheating on licensing exams for train conductor or locomotive engineer. The Manhattan district attorney's office said Monday the defendants were indicted on charges of impairing the integrity of a government licensing examination.

Struggling MTA sees extra cash from real estate boom

As the New York City real estate market continues to hit record highs, the cash-strapped Metropolitan Transportation Authority is seeing revenues from real estate taxes that far exceed the numbers in its budget.
