The long-delayed Fulton Center subway station will finally open on Nov. 10 at 5 a.m., the Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced Monday. The $1.4 billion transit hub, most recently slated to open June 26, had postponed its launch repeatedly, most recently because of delays in testing systems, including the fire alarms and elevators, according to officials .

New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority says there's no indication the Ebola patient was contagious when he rode the subway. The MTA also said Friday there were "no reports of bodily fluids on any of the subway lines he rode."
MTA Updates Subway Car Cleaning Procedures

As part of its ongoing Ebola preparation efforts the Metropolitan Transportation Authority has updated its existing protocols for cleaning potentially infectious waste -- such as bodily fluids -- throughout the subway system. Crews will now have nitrile gloves - a more resistent rubber - and use a 10-percent bleach solution for disinfection, and double bag any potentially infectious waste.

MTA Expands Wireless Service to 40 More Stations

The Metropolitan Transit Authority is rolling out a new wave of cell and Wi-Fi service to subway stations in Manhattan and, for the first time, Queens. The expansion is the second phase of a seven-part plan to connect the city's network of stations.
