Your Tasks The candidate will work closely with spacecraft systems, structural, thermal and AIT engineering to ensure acceptable payload and antenna performances from the design phase until the inorbit phase passing by the CATR activities. A portfolio of project responsibilities will be assigned each task having the objective of successful development, integration, test and acceptance of payload and antenna performances. Simultaneous projects in various stages allows a unique and exciting combination of tasks from early development until End to End performance evaluation. Interact directly with suppliers, reviewing unit level and subsystem performance and interfaces for suitability To act as a main technical interface toward the costumers and the suppliers for technical and programmatic aspects regarding the antenna subsystem Perform antenna architecture tradeoffs and performance analysis, including definition of requirements and SOW Interaction with the Payload System Engineers team and the Satellite AIT Manager to ensure adequate preparation and execution of the full payload and satellite test campaign Interaction within the project system areas Perform of antenna level tests and satellite inorbit test Support the Systems Engineering Team in the standardisation and improvement processes Your Qualifications Degree in telecommunication, electronics, microwave, electrical, aerospace engineering or comparable discipline Experience in subcontractor management Experience in the space industry is preferred Excellent organization and communication skills Capable of interact in a crossfunctional technical team Working level proficiency in written and spoken English, German language skills are advantageous

Specific Tasks Within the Flight Software Systems Section, support is provided to the JUICE Mission and in particular to the Radio Plasma and Wave Instrument RPWI which will characterize the radio emission and plasma environment of the Jupiter System. The contractor will be assigned to the Flight Software Systems Section to work for the Swedish Institute of Space Physics in Uppsala on site and will be in charge of the following initial tasks Development and validation of the software for the Radio Plasma and Wave Instrument RPWI of the ESA JUICE mission. Perform unit testing of the Instrument software. Generating and maintenance of the required software documentation. Requirements A PhD or Msc or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience with Software engineering. Programming language C and debugging skills gdb. Embedded Real Time Systems and Real Time Kernels RTEMS. Methods for validation and unit testing. The following experience is considered an asset Communication protocols SpaceWire, Simple Serial Interface SSI. Familiarity with test automation. Programming language TCL. Knowledge of PUS ECSSEST7041A Telemetry and telecommand packet utilization. Knowledge of SPARC LEON3 and multicore processor. Software Engineering tools GNULinux, Makefile, Python, gcc, git. Software Engineering Standards such as the ECSSEST40C. The contractor shall be part of the RPWI team. Because of the operational nature of the support, a proactive and flexible attitude will be required. Experience with embedded realtime software development will be an advantage.

Blue Skies Space is looking to hire a lead systems engineer for its first project Twinkle. This person will lead engineering acitivites for Blue Skies as we start the procurement of a 350kg science satellite from Industry. As well as supporting the recruitment to build up the Blue Skies engineering team, this person will manage engineering acitviites in our suppliers as they develop the Twinkle concept. We are just starting Phase B1 of the Twinkle project, with launch planned at the end of 2022. The current phase A design needs to be industrialised, selecting low risk, high heritage components to deliver the overall mission requirements. We are loking for an experienced systems engineer who can lead activities on both instrument and platform. The goal for the next 9 months is to progress the design to the point at which we can obtain firm fixed price offers from industry to deliver our satellite to a 36 month schedule.
