We are looking for a degree educated engineer with aerospace, informatics, mathematics or physics degree and quality assurance experience for the development and maintenance of huge distributed software systems. This position is based in Darmstadt or Langen. RESPONSIBILITIES DUTIES Contributing in a Team to the quality assurance during the development, maintenance, verification and validation of air traffic control systems developed and used at the German Air Navigation Service Provider. Shehe will plan and perform Critical Design Reviews CDR, Test Readiness Reviews TRR and Pre and PostTest Meetings, including check of traceability, testlog and all related documentation. Payload Systems Engineer

Inmarsat requires a selfmotivated individual to provide expert guidance and leadership with regards to all aspects of satellite communications payload engineering. Initially based at the Thales Alenia Space with our team of onsite engineers, working with the Thales team plus with the other satellite and equipment suppliers to ensure Inmarsat requirements and schedules are delivered on time and with the correct quality. Review, assessment and recommendation of supplier data from bid through design, manufacture and test to final delivery will be a prime task. Following completion of the Inmarsats satellite construction, the successful incumbent for this post will be given the opportunity to be involved in the next satellite construction program. This will require relocation to the office that Inmarsat will establish at the facilities of the satellite manufacturer selected for our next generation program. The responsibilities of this post will include operational support to the satellite operation department in London for our inorbit satellite fleet. Key Responsibilities Support Inmarsat communications payload design and development activities Participate in satellite test campaigns and delivery reviews to ensure that Inmarsats requirements are fulfilled Manage contractor for timely resolution on communications subsystem technical problems Support new space infrastructure procurement tasks Support the London based operational team as required Be oncall for the In Orbit fleet Provide timely reporting to management for critical and routine activities Essential Knowledge and Skills At least 3 years experience in communications payload design, manufacture and test from equipment level through to spacecraft level Solid experience in payload design, particular emphasis on mobile oriented communications payload technology A good understanding of multiport amplifiers including the individual equipment parts and the overall operation In depth knowledge of onboard digital channelization and beamforming will be considered an advantage In depth knowledge of all technologies associated with communications payloads, including TWTAs, SSPAs, OMUX, frequency generator etc. The analysis of supplier data and presentation of performance e.g. GT, EIRP, linearity etc Indepth understanding and handson experience for the testing of communications equipment, communications payloads and spacecraft The ability to discuss and contribute to the mechanical and thermal aspects Provide leadership for communications payload developments for Inmarsat programmes Good knowledge and understanding of satellite design, assembly integration test Excellent writing and reporting skills. For one of our customers we are currently recruiting an Optical Systems Engineer for their location in the London area, UK. The organization is the worlds leading small satellite company, delivering operational space missions for a range of applications including Earth observation, science, and communications. The company designs, manufactures and operates high performance satellites and ground systems. Tasks and Responsibilities Development of spaceborne optical systems within a multidisciplinary team performing optical instrument system design, being the technical point of contact for the relevant optical systems. Design and development of optical systems from concept through to manufacture, system integration and verification. Management of new optical solutions including the programmatic and technical aspects of work packages relevant to area of expertise. Define and own technical requirements specifications for optical payload systems, including trade analysis of these requirements working closely with the spacecraft system engineer to identify derived requirements. Development planning, budget and schedule management Ownership of risk registers and appropriate mitigation as agreed with the project manager. The ability to pragmatically review and critique optical systems for application in space, balancing technical requirements with programmatic and budget constraints. Knowledge and experience of other spacecraft systems would be an advantage. The candidate should have basic optomechanical knowledge to aid in optical system development. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Degree or MSc in Physics, Electronics or related Engineering discipline. Proven capability in power analogue digital electrical design with a successful product portfolio. The role will require a thorough understanding of the potential interaction and control of mixed signals in a complex spaceborne instrument system. Solid understanding of fundamental electrical theory and analysis methods, and ability to apply this from first principles in practical applications to create innovative solutions to problems. Solid understanding of common standard digital interfaces, electrical power distribution, electrical transmission methods and theory, grounding and bonding, and electromagnetic compatibility. Solid understanding of failure analysis and mitigation techniques, and safety regulations to ensure Reliability and Safety requirements are met.
