Description ISS Ground Segment Technical IT Systems Team Leader, ISS Operations Astronauts Group, Directorate of Human Robotic Exploration Programmes. Duties Reporting to the Group leader, the Team Leader will be responsible for ISS European Ground Segment maintenance and operations as well as Technical IT activities at the EAC, working closely with the ISS Operations, Exploration Systems, Payload Engineering and Utilisation Planning Teams, and supported by the team responsible for the EDRS satellite, TEC and EAC personnel. Main tasks include being Technical Officer for the Ground Segment GS maintenance and operations contract, maintaining its GS requirements and GS policy baseline, elaborating engineering change requests, monitoring and guiding their implementation and verification monitoring service compliance, providing performance assessments of contractors ensuring programmatic and technical coordination of GS requirements for new payloads including thirdparty ones commercial, national contributions, etc. and ColumbusISS enhancements through analysis of new payloads or enhancements to elaborate new requirements, defining contractor tasks, contributing to flight readiness certification coordinating all GS external interfaces with17 interconnected sites the Columbus Ground segment, being dispersed, requires continuous coordination to ensure services are received and provided as needed maintaining a strong level of nonclassified security across its GS by supervising implementation and enforcement of security practices across the ISS GS, through the Security Control Board and security consultancy contract supervising work done by the IT Team to support the various systems, infrastructure and operations at the EAC monitoring the ageing baseline of the Columbus GS, performing risk analysis and defining mitigation and evolution plans to keep the GS operational through to end of programme contributing to elaboration of requirements and development of GS systems in support of exploration missions and EACdeveloped analogues The postholder will be responsible for managing a team, its staff resources and activities. Additional requirements The postholder will have to be able to act as ground system architect, to ensure inner coherence of the Ground Segment and coherence with onboard elements. Applicants should have a good knowledge of spacebased operations and associated hardware andor software systems, preferably in the ISS Programme context, plus a sound understanding of the specific requirements, complexities and limitations of the ISS Ground Segment environment including security aspects and a good knowledge of currentfuture solutions and systems for the GS architecture and systems. Candidates should have relevant experience in the management of ground segment systems related to the ISS. Due to the works interdisciplinary nature, the postholder will be expected to establish and maintain good working relationships and networks with experts, inside and outside the Directorate, from other related disciplines. Experience of dealing with international partners and European national agencies is required. Previous people management experience is an asset, as is experience in an international environment i.e. outside ones home country and in diverse functional areas relevant to ESA activities.
