Tasks The holder of this post supports the Integration and Verification IV activities of the EPSSG Overall Ground Segment OGS. During the EPSSG OGS development, the holder of this post will typically be involved in tasks related to the planning, preparation and execution of OGS IV activities and following upassessing IV activities performed as part of the OGS procurements. Typical tasks will include Contribute to the production of all OGS IV documents during Phase C, and their implementation in Phase D Update and maintain the OGS IV related schedule in coordination with Project Control Coordinate the IV approach with the System team to ensure coherence and completeness of the EPSSG OGS and System level approaches Follow and assess the IVV approach of all contributing elements of the OGS and ensure compatibility with the overall OGS IV Plan Establish and maintain the verification control mechanisms Ensure accurate metrics on IV progress are maintained Ensure implementation of the OGS IV plan through lower level test documentation, processes, test execution and relevant OGS reviews Attend sub segment IVV tests as observer, witnessing tests where requirements are verified Identify and support the acquisition of all necessary Test Tools and Test Data Support validation activities managed by the EPSSG System Team Report on a weekly and monthly basis to GS Management.

Job description The Key person will carry out tasks which support activities related to 3 different phases in the life cycle of EUMETSAT systems. They will correspond to Phase B Architectural and Preliminary Design, various stages of the Detailed Design Phase C of a given programme under definition and development e.g. JasonCS, and Phase D Implementation and Validation, as support to Integration, Verification and Validation in the area of ground segment engineering and architecture. Job description For our customer, EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany, we are seeking an experienced Ground Segment System Support Engineer. You will be supporting all activities related to three different phases in the life cycle of EUMETSAT systems. Phase B includes Architectural and Preliminary Design as well as various stages of the Detailed Design. Phase C regards the definition and development of a given programme e.g. JasonCS and phase D Integration, Verification and Validation in the area of ground segment engineering and architecture. Responsibilities Typical overall areas of responsibilities are Requirements engineering Design definition Technical analyses Technical tradeoffs for assessing dependability, effectiveness, risks, efforts and planning Planning of integration and verification, which final objective is to demonstrate that the deliverables conform to the specified requirements. In more detail, all necessary support activities will be provided in particular phases of the EUMETSAT systems life cycle, consisting of Phase B Support in refinement, management and maintenance of the GS system requirements in its Ground Segment Requirements Document, including analysis of the system level requirements, requirements tracing and justification Support in refinement and maintenance of the ground segment functional, operational and data model Support in defining the Ground Segment architecture addressing the overall design of the ground segment system and its physical elements, including the GS deployment views, and generation of the associated architectural design documentation Performing analyses architectural tradeoffs, technical budgets, design to costeffort and risk analyses to ensure completeness and coherence of the design for all aspects related to system engineering, and contribute to the GS design justification and GS Technical Budgets documents Support in the decomposition of the GS System into procurementdevelopment elements, COTS and reusable components including allocation of requirements and functions from GS system level. This is a fulltime position with a planned starting date on 01. January 2017. You will be nominally based at EUMETSATs facilities in Darmstadt, Germany, but shall be in a position to travel within Europe or worldwide, if required.
