(Telecompaper) Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT) said it has cut jobs in order to save some SEK 250 million a year, as it aims to offset currency headwinds and support the expansion of its Viaplay streaming service. It has announced a one-off charge of approximately SEK 700 million for the fourth quarter in redundancy costs and writedown of free-to-air television content and other assets. There is no change to NENT's profitable growth commitment for 2020.

(Telecompaper) Qualcomm Technologies released what it calls the world's first 5G-supported extended reality (XR) platform, the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 platform. The successor of the XR1 platform, it unites its 5G and AI innovations with its XR technology to usher in a new era of mobile computing across augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR). Qualcomm is also working with Niantic, the creator of the games Ingress and Pokemon Go, on a smart glasses reference design.
