The Galileo exploitation phase will start with the provision of the early services by the end of 2014. The Galileo deployment is planned to be completed in parallel by 2020, when all services will be declared fully operational. In parallel to the above, Galileo mission and system evolution activities are initiated. The focus of the Galileo mission evolution is on the next generation of European satellite navigation missions, but some changes may be taken into account between 2015 and 2020 to fine tune the current mission baseline up to Full Operational Capability FOC in 2020. The Galileo 2nd generation evolution will already be initiated in a PhaseA system study in 2014, rather than to follow a fully sequential approach, whereas the 2nd generation activities would be initiated only after FOC of the current generation is reached.
