ACTIVITIES The Key person will carry out tasks which support activities typically related to Phase BC of a space programme in the area of system design engineering and architecture definition. The Key person will work within the Sentinel6JasonCS project, with potential support to other LEO programmes. PROFILE The Key person shall have a University degree in an engineering discipline. Knowledge and experience with the following is considered mandatory Extensive System Engineering life cycle experience for the development of remote sensing and Earth observation systems Demonstrated experience in the field of systems engineering and architectural design minimum 5 years ISO, Software development, and Space and Ground System engineering processes and standards. Experience in Model Based System engineering methods, techniques and tools Experience in the use of modelling and design tools in support of architectural design activities e.g. CORE Knowledge and experience with the following is considered an advantage Definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of dedicated tools e.g. DOORS Good knowledge of at least 2 of the following and an overview of the others i Networking Communications, ii Ground Stations, iii Near RealTime Data Processing, iv Monitoring and control of satellites, v Monitoring and control of ground systems Data communication networks and protocols. The variety of the tasks and the scope of the systems to be supported require a high degree of autonomy and good analytical skills. The working language for the position is English and therefore the Engineer must be able to work effectively in this language, together with good communication skills. Close date 06102014
