Specific Tasks The general responsibilities of the service will be handson technical support in the area of SW Simulation Modelling, sign, in particular for the development of an endtoend simulation environment representative of a full GNSS and SBAS signal processing chain. Specific tasks will include Task 1 Hands on technical support to the administration, management, development, installation, testing and critical assessment of the EGNOS Project Office System EndtoEnd System Performance Simulation Environment, including tools assessment and recommendations management and critical assessment of internal configuration of simulation tools. Task 2 Engineering Support to the preparation and validation of System Performance related Customer Furnished Items and delivery to EGNOS V2V3Evolutions Contractors Task 3 Development of addon modules and auxiliary scripts which should interface with the current EGNOS EndtoEnd Simulation Environment, focussing onDefinition of synthetic input scenarios which accounts for Stochastic modelling of external GNSS satellite SiS threats Modelling of the System environment and GNSS propagation signals Modelling of ionospheric propagation conditions and their effects on SBAS satellite navigation missions e.g. ionosphere temporal and spatial gradient, amplitude and phase scintillation Prototyping of GNSS and Augmentation related algorithms Data filtering and postprocessing of GNSS SIS processing outputs SBAS corrections safety integrity analysis both in the pseudorange and position domain GNSS SIS monitoring and EGNOS SIS Threat characterisation Task 4 Technical support in the definition of campaigns to serve RD and other EGNOS project needs e.g. for scintillation monitoring and GNSS SIS threat monitoring. Task 5 Engineering support to several projects, the service provider will attend project reviews for EGNOS e.g. V2V3 system and subsystem reviews at algorithm level Task 6 Engineering support to the GNSS standardisation process for what concerns System Performance analysis and simulations e.g. analysis of GPS and Galileo navigation messages. Requirements General skills Fluent English language oral and written Fluent in French language oral is desirable Autonomy in writing technical notes, specifications and reports in English Good inter personal skills and team spirit Previous working experience in a multinational environment Good knowledge of MS office tools Good knowledge of DOORs Organization, good practical sense, being able to work effectively in a team and be able to autonomously take decision in his field of responsibility Availability and willingness to travel for missions inside or outside Europe. Specific skills Masters degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, physics or Computer science with proven knowledge and experience in the fields of Algorithms, Navigation and related data. Knowledge and experience in EGNOS System environment modelling and performance related tools e.g. RDG, Ionospheric AzSTEC converters, Knowledge and experience in EGNOS SIS Threat modelling and characterisation Knowledge and experience in EGNOS system performance related design justification Knowledge and experience in the analysis, architecture and development of software based solutions, Knowledge and experience in Python, Java, C and Shell scriptingprogramming, Knowledge and experience in GNSS signals, receivers and RD projects, Knowledge and experience in JIRA software, Knowledge and experience in Git version control system, Knowledge and experience in UNIXLinux operating systems, Experience in virtualization technology, Experiences in procurement of industrial activities.

SPECIFIC TASKS The Technology Transfer Officer will be involved in the following activities Assessing the technical key benefits of the technologies developed under ESA contracts and ESA patents, and how they could answer needs from other fields of applications Build technologyknowhow descriptions catalogue stemming out of ESA RD activities Build a network of space companies interested in technology transfer Support the setup and organization of call for proposals as well as the assessment of proposals for technology transfer feasibility studies, proof of concepts and demonstrators resulting from the TTPO s activities. The Technology Transfer Officer will provide expertise for the evaluation of proposals, and support the followup of the contracts placed with industry. The Technology Transfer Officer will also actively contribute to other existing activities of the TTPO, in particular related to the technical support and the patents. REQUIREMENTS As a minimum a Master degree in a relevant technical or scientific discipline. In addition, diplomas or experience in relevant areas such as technology transfer, technology assessment, commercialization, intellectual property in particular patent rights, licensing and patenting process are essential. Fluency in English. Motivation, initiative and ability to work with a minimum of supervision. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Specific Tasks Modelling of systems including spacecraft, ground segment and other required auxiliary systems. Elaboration, development and promotion of tools for distributed and collaborative engineering. Support for mission simulation, science operations planning and scheduling and experiment operations verification. Elaboration, development and promotion of the concept of generic simulation testbeds such as ATB, applicable for different projects, including preparation and promotion of relevant standards. Realtime simulation infrastructure and tools based on different platforms, including LINUX environments. This infrastructure can support both hardwareintheloop and manintheloop simulation. Support to ESA project teams in activities related to the procurement of EGSE for space systems, subsystems and instruments including preparation of requirement specifications, monitoring of industrial activities, acceptance of industrial products and participation in project reviews. Visualisation and graphical user interaction on different levels, including MMI design, parameter visualization, and up to highend 3D realtime, interactive and immersive visualisation systems, also known as Virtual Reality VR simulation. Develop, integrate and maintain VR applications and the related technology. Maintenance of the EGSE SCOS based reference facility and Space System Database reference facility to support prototyping of new technology standards validation and evaluation of industrial methods and tools. Participation in the definition of standards for ground system and operations, electrical test facilities and modelling and simulation in the context of ECSS and ESA internal standardisation. Requirements Master degree in electronic engineering, Space systems engineering, computer science, Mathematics or equivalent. Relevant experience within software engineering, software design and configuration control methods, tools and standards. Knowledge of realtime software and Object Oriented design methods, databases and most common operating system Windows, Corba, Linux, Unix, etc.. Knowledge of Space Systems and Space System Engineering. Knowledge and experience in most common programming languages in particular C, C, FORTRAN, Java, databases ORACLE, ACCESS, MySQL, ER, etc..
