Proposed standard ASTM WK45755, Guide for Selection of Quantitative Passive Samplers for Volatile Organic Compounds in Air, will help users decide which air sampler type best suits application requirements. Aspects will include sampler geometry, sorbent choice, sampling time, target species concentration, and sampling environment. According to ASTM member Nicola Watson, no guide is currently available that goes through points to consider when choosing such devices.
