Diversified human nutrition company Omega Protein is in an increasingly bitter battle with an activist investment firm that has questioned the very diversification plan that the company has touted in recent years. Omega Protein is the largest commercial harvester of menhaden, a forage fish species found in inshore waters off the eastern and southern coasts of the United States.
